It is certainly no secret that menswear
has been influenced by sporting activities with lots of ideas and concepts borrowed from the world of sport and it is also clear that the collaboration between fashion and the world of sport is happening on several multi-faceted levels.
A perfect example was the collaboration
and synergy between Alexander McQueen and Iconic sports label Puma,
McQueen's Scottish roots and London
apprenticeships paid off where he learned tailoring, costume design and pattern-making.He had the ability to embrace sport and his collections are
full of swagger,it reigns synonymous
with the house that McQueen built.

It is now the norm for celebrity stars to
take part in high fashion ad campaigns
We have Jensen Button for Hugo Boss
Roger Federer for Rolex and David Beckham, Christiano Ronaldo and Rafael Nadal for Emporio Armani all super-sports stars signing up huge campaigns.
Also recently David Beckham bodywear
for the famous fashion label H&M

Even taking it a bit further sportsmen
have also collaborated with famous designers to help create their own collections, The union between fashion
and sports have become cemented and it is the sports orientated collections
that have influenced recent fashion weeks, the Adidas brand Y-3 under the
creative leadership of Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto has been hugely successful since 2005 due to innovative designs within evident sports functional influences.
Fashion designs placed heavy emphasis
on more sports inspired prints and lycra
and nylon based fabrics even marrying more sportswear elements with sharp
tailored blazers!
